Using the ID3 Tag Editor

NIYoW includes a great tool for editing single/multiple mp3 tags.
The editor support 2 types of tag: ID3 v1.x and ID3 v2.x

NOTE: ID3 v2.x is newer but isn't supported by all players. If you want to ensure that you can see the tag in all players, fill both ID3 v1.x and ID3 v2.x.

The editor can be opened in 3 modes:

• Single tag editor
  
  This mode is opened when you select a single file as shown in figure 2.1:

  In the Edit frame you can see the ID3 tag with checkbox near every field. This checkboxes determines if the field will be updated when you press the Update button.
  Press the Update button the set the new tag.
  On the bottom left corner you can see additional information about the file.
  
  
• Multiple Tags Editor in Separated Mode
  
  This mode is opened when you select multiple files and answer yes when asked if you want to edit each tag separately as shown in figure 2.2:

  This mode is identical to the single mode except that it has also a Skip and Skip All  buttons.
  Use the Skip button to leave the current tag unchanged and move to the next file.
  Use the Skip All button to close the editor.
  
  
• Multiple Tags Editor in Mixed Mode
  
  This mode is opened when you select multiple files and answer no when asked if you want to edit each tag separately and is shown in figure 2.3:

  In this mode you edit one tag for all files. The system searches for identical fields and adds it to the new template tag. Now you need to insert the values you want to be in all tags and press the Update button (note that only checked fields will be updated to files while retaining the other fields unchanged). Now all files will have the same tag as the template.

Buttons:

Clear fields - Clears all fields in the tag

ID3v1 ==> ID3v2 - Copy the content of ID3 v1.x  tag to ID3 v2.x
ID3v2 ==> ID3v1 - Copy the content of ID3 v2.x tag to ID3 v1.x

Bypass update of id3v1 - Check this box if you don't want to update the ID3 v1.x tag.
Bypass update of id3v2 - Check this box if you don't want to update the ID3 v2.x tag.

Copy ID3 - Clear the selected fields into memory.
Paste ID3 - Paste the copied ID3 fields from memory to the corresponding fields.
